THE GOODYEAR WELTED method is the best way of putting together the components in a premium quality leather shoes.

As any regular wearer will know, the more a Goodyear Welted shoe is worn, the more comfortable it becomes as the leather components gradually mould to the shape mof the foot.

A pair of Goodyear Welted shoes can take up to 8 weeks to make. Some 170 skilled craftspeople, up to 75 shoe parts and over 200 different operations are involved.

The last - the starting point for any new design and the solid form on which the shoe is built - can be subject to several alterations and a rigorous programme of trials before it meets our exacting standards.
